2018 Fall MCT Drama Classes

Goals include building self-esteem, encouraging imagination, and learning basic theatre skills including stage directions, projection, character development, theatre etiquette. Each class includes review for past students and incorporates new lessons for everyone.
 
FEES are based on 12 classes per semester and includes any rehearsal time and extra instruction.
30 min classes are $80/month or $240/semester & All other classes are $100/month or $300/semester.
CULMINATING PRODUCTION in the Spring: TBA (Last year was Charlotte’s Webb at Farr Best Theatre). Lead Roles for the Culminating Production will be allowed ONLY for those who take both semesters of classes

Monday Classes
Class begins September 10th     

Fun with Drama

4-5 years old: 4:30pm to 5:00pm
Kindergarten: 5:15pm to 5:45pm

Class Description: Children learn to develop characters through role play and group activities.

Tuesday Classes
Class begins September 4th

Acting on Stage

1st & 2nd Grade: 5:00pm to 5:45pm
Class Description: Students learn basic drama/acting skills including Pantomime, Improvisation, stage terminology
 
3rd & 4th Grade: 6:00pm to 6:45pm
Class Description: Students study character development through Improvisation and Pantomime and Basic Theatre History.

Thursday Classes
Class begins September 6th

Intermediate Drama

5th & 6th Grade: 4:30pm to 5:15pm
Class Description: Students study in depth character development, and are introduced to costuming, make up, sets, and Theatre History.
 
7th & 8th Grade: 5:30pm to 6:15pm
Class Description: Students study individual units including costuming, make up, sets, and technical theatre as well as a Shakespeare unit.


Theatre Dance

Thursday
Class begins September 6th
5th – 8th Grade: 6:30pm to 7:30pm
Class Description: Students learn basic steps and moves commonly used in choreography through routines from Annie, Sound of Music, The King and I, and others

Saturday - Advanced
Class begins September 8th
8th – 10th Grade: 1:00pm to 2:00pm
Advanced theatre choreography
Monthly Tuition - pay for 3 weeks, attend all Satrudays for that month
